Athlone Little Theatre’s upcoming production is “Widows’ Paradise” by Ulster playwright, Sam Cree. Widows Paradise runs from Friday November 30th until Friday December 7th at Athlone Little Theatre. The play centres around five women, most of whom are widows, as they arrive at a caravan for a ‘girls only’ weekend away. As they settle in, they make a vow to have nothing to do with men. Ever! However, as the evening progresses, the arrival of some male company throws their plans into disarray.

This is a hilarious comedy written by one of Northern Ireland’s most prolific writers of farce. Sam Cree’s plays have been performed widely by amateur groups all over Ireland, but this is Athlone Little Theatre’s first time to take on his work.
The production sees a host of new talent making their debut on the Little Theatre stage, including Olive Robinson as Ruby, Sinead Waterstone as Lucy, Angelina Treglia as Rachel, Saoirse Mulvihlll as Sylvia, Michael McGlone as Wilfred, and Oisin Foley and Chris Hurley sharing the role of Alan. Completing the line-up are the well-seasoned and ever-entertaining Pat Canty, Paul Slevin, Joan Larkin and John Elliot. The director is Joe MacCarrick.
