It tells the story of the fateful day that Comdt. Frank Butler returns in triumph after five months service with the UN in the Middle East. His four children from his first marriage all return home for the celebrations along with Franks young wife, Anna.

Commandant Frank Butler is fittingly played by Lt Col Richard Brennan, his wife Anna by Nessa McLoughlin, and his grown-up children by Fiona Bracken, Fiona Scerri, David Kelly and Ciara Higgins. Ray Kelly takes on the part of Miriam’s husband, Charlie, and Fr Tom Carty, Army chaplain, is the versatile Martin Kelleher.
