Friday September 24th - Culture Night An evening of free events and activities around the County

An Open invitation is been extended to the people of Westmeath to celebrate the county’s official launch of Culture Night 2010.
Westmeath County Council are asking people to attend the launch on August 24, which promises to set the scene for September 24 when wonder and excitement will fill the streets of Westmeath.
The public are invited to this celebration launch of Culture Night. This is the first year that Westmeath has taken part in the national event and 72 events have been planned for September. The launch on August 24, will give locals the opportunity to discover Culture Night in their area, as the programme of events will be officially unveiled.
The Culture Night launch will take place on Tuesday August 24 at The Atrium, County Buildings, Mullingar at 5.30pm and people participating in Culture Night can have the opportunity to showcase what they will have on offer.
While this is the first time Culture Night is being held in Westmeath the event has been running since 2006 in other counties around Ireland including Dublin, which saw more than 150,000 people attend some 120 venues last year.
The event is an initiative of the Temple Bar Cultural Trust and is part sponsored by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport& Westmeath County Council.
