The Council shall seek to ensure the provision of adequate parking facilities
to facilitate commercial activity and maintain a free flow of traffic. The
Council shall favour purpose built off-street car parks including multi-storey
car-parks, in preference to on-street parking. The Planning Authority will
seek the provision of off-street car parking in new residential development
and will also seek the provision and improvement of parking arrangements for
disabled people. To manage on-street and off-street car-parking to accommodate
longer term parking in less convenient and under utilised off streets car
parks. Where practicable, the provision of adequate parking facilities will
be required in the case of new development. Where this is not possible or
desirable, developers will be required to contribute towards the cost of public
parking facilities.

Parking Permits
Parking permits are available to residents of paid parking areas(max 3 per
household) where the number of residential units within any single development
does not exceed 4no. Permits for non residents are also available for Zone
B areas only at €675 per anum.
All permits are for a maximum of one year and must be renewed annually.
