TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROADS

Notice is hereby given that Westmeath County Council and Athlone Town Council intend to close to public traffic the roads described hereunder to facilitate Euro-Festival Athlone 2010:
Main Street (from Castle Street to The Docks);
Friday 23rd July 2010 from 6.00pm to Saturday 31st July at 12.00 noon
Alternative access available via St Peter’s Port
Market Place; St Peter’s Square; Castle Street; Main Street;
Sunday 25th July from 5.00pm to 12.00 midnight
Wednesday 28th July from 5.00pm to 12.00 midnight
Alternative access available via Accommodation Road and Magazine Road.
Upper Irishtown; Mardyke Street; Dublingate Street; The Bawn; Church
Street; Custume Place; Strand Street; The Strand; Wolf Tone Terrace; Griffith
Street;
Saturday 24th July from 7.00pm to 12.00 midnight
Monday 26th July from 7.00pm to 12.00 midnight
Tuesday 27th July from 7.00pm to 12.00 midnight
Thursday 29th July from 7.00pm to 12.00 midnight
Friday 30th July from 7.00pm to 12.00 midnight
Alternative routes via Gleeson Street; Garden Vale and Station Road
Local access will be maintained and right turn available at Dunnes Stores
Irishtown
Magazine Road; Connaught Street; Pearse Street; Barrack Street; Town
Bridge and Church Street
Sunday 25th July from 3.00pm to 5.00pm
Rolling Road Closure to facilitate the Grand Opening Parade of Euro-Festival

Town Bridge and Northgate Street to it’s junction with Abbey
Road
Friday 30th July 11.00pm to 12.45pm
To facilitate Finale Fireworks display
Any person who wishes to object to the closing of this road should lodge
such objection, in writing, with Mr. John Walsh, Senior Executive Officer,
Athlone Town Council and Area Office, Civic Centre, Church Street, Athlone
on or before 4.00pm on Wednesday 7th July 2010
Parking will be prohibited on streets associated with the Road Closures.
