Proposal to Hold an Event
Pursuant to Section 238 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 as amended,
Athlone Town Council hereby gives notice that it proposes to hold an Event
in accordance with Part XVI of the Planning & Development Regulations
2001 as amended.
The event known as Euro-Festival 2010 will take place at venues in the centre of Athlone Town from July 24th to 31st 2010, and will include an opening parade, a tented promotional village, nightly live musical stage performances, street theatre, cookery demonstrations, a street running race, an art/craft market and a fireworks display.
The venues will include the Civic Square, Church St., Dublingate St., Mardyke St., Griffith St., Wolfe Tone Tce., Burgess Park, The Strand/Strand St., Custume Place, St. Peter’s Sq./Market Place, Castle St., Main St., Town Bridge, The Docks, Goldenisland and Shannon River Banks.
The anticipated audience number for the event is on average 8,000 persons per day.
A proposal for the event including a Draft Plan for the Management of the Event may be inspected during normal office hours at the Civic Centre, Church Street, Athlone for a period of 5 weeks from June 9th 2010.
Submissions or observations in respect of the proposed event may be made to the undersigned for the consideration of the Council, not later than 4.00p.m. on July 14th 2010.
