Sustainable Living Workshop - ECO Tips for Communities

Would you like to learn how to reduce your carbon footprint and develop a more sustainable lifestyle, then why not come along to our free workshop ECO Tips for Communities?

This is a new workshop, jointly funded by Westmeath Co. Council and the Department of Environment Heritage and Local Government, which will be delivered by the Irish Peatland Conservation Council, to provide local communities with the skills and information they need to take up the challenge of:

  • Reducing their carbon footprint
  • Reducing their contribution to waste
  • Conserving the natural resources of energy and water
  • Protecting biodiversity in natural habitats
  • Growing their own food.

Each participant will be provided for with information leaflets and further information will also be provided on IPCCs website at www.ipcc.ie.

The Programme will include:

Waste Reduction: How to setup, operate, harvest and handle problems encountered with a compost cone/heap and wormery/vermicomposting.

Energy and Water Conservation: Simple ways to introduce changes in homes and communities, which will benefit both our local and natural environment.

Grow Your Own: This initiative not only reduces food miles but will also benefit the health and well being of the local community.
